That is a great question! Xencelabs has two types of pen technology: first-generation pens for Pen Tablets and v2 pens for Pen Displays.
If you have a Pen Tablet, whether small, Medium, Medium Bundle, or Special Edition, the following pen models will work with your Tablet.
PH26 - 3-Button pen
PH06 - Thin pen
For the Pen Displays, the following pens will work with your Display.
PH35 v2 3-Button pen
PH36 v2 - Thin pen
The image below shows how to tell a first-generation pen from a V2 pen.
[1] This pen is a PH35 v2 3-Button pen used with Xencelabs Displays. Notice the Yellow logo, which identifies it as a v2 pen.
[2] This is a PH06 Thin pen used with Tablets. Notice the Black logo, which identifies it as a First-generation pen. | ![]() |
The nibs for each version of the pens are also different.
[3] These are the nibs for the First-generation pens. [4] These are the nibs for the V2 pen; they are shorter in length. | ![]() |
