Thanks for posting that. I would like to get a couple of screenshots of what you are seeing. The before and after shots - thanks
Mike, are you referring to my comment about the setting resetting. There's not much to see, just the check box for click-then-tap changing to hover-click.
BUT I now can see it's not just when I wake up the computer or restart, I can make this happen by just turning the tablet off. I can set click-then-tap, and it will work fine until I turn off the tablet. When I turn the tablet back on, and it connects, the settings have reverted to default. This happens in wireless and wired modes.
This also seems to be specific to the profiles created for applications such as Bridge and Photoshop. The global setting seems to retain the click-then-tap setting.
After some quick testing, it's not just when I restart the computer or wake it from sleep. It turns out that just turning the tablet on and off will cause the click-then-tap setting to revert to default. This happens whether it is wired or on wireless. The Global setting seems to retain the click-then-tap setting but settings for other applications such as Photoshop and Bridge revert.
I have been testing it all morning, and I have had the other Customer Care person test it as well. We are unable to reproduce this issue.
I'm running Windows 11 Pro. With that said, my last driver installation, version 1.3.5-90, was a clean install. Meaning that I uninstalled the driver, then rebooted the computer, installed it, and then rebooted the computer once more.
Our driver is designed to be over-installed with no issues, but you never know, right? I'm going to over-install it and then conduct further testing.
OK, so I removed the current driver and did a clean install and things worked properly, the click then tap settings stayed after turning on and off the tablet and even after a restart. It must have been a setting that has been passed down through the last few years of drivers since I tested importing my previous settings after the fresh install and sure enough, once the imported setting for photoshop and bridge were imported, the click and tap setting would revert to default after restarting the tablet.
Sooo, this must have been specific to me, though there might be a handful of people out there that this could affect. It's not actually the tablet settings I care about, but the quick key settings, since I'll have to reconfigure those and that's what takes a bit of time. But at least now I understand the source of the issue.
I'm glad that got you up and running. Are drivers are designed to be over installed, but sometimes that does not work as we have intended it to work.
Please let me know if I can help with anything else.
Brandon Jackson
I always preferred the way Wacom had an option "hold and tap" to produce a right click. This would be helpful for those of us that use mouse gestures as the current "click" and drag the stylus button kind of freaks the mouse gesture reader out.
