I have not seen what you are describing before. You do need to restart the Mac after the driver has been installed, and if you do not, then odd things can and do happen.
Please uninstall the driver, restart your Mac, and then install the current macOS driver 1.3.4-75 and once that is installed, restart your Mac once more.

When I installed the Pen Display with my iMac I plugged in the dongle and the usb connector cable. Now my Mac won't function when the Pen Display is plugged in. Symptoms while connected are mac dock disappears, windows won't minimize or respond or just straight up disappear. Has anyone worked through this issue? I'm guessing I'll need to reinstall the Pen Display and maybe the driver?
